Glenn S. Garbitt, 68, of South Dennis, died Saturday November 7, 2020.

Born in Brockton, Glenn was the son of the late Melville and Eleanor (Joy) Garbitt. A lifelong resident of Dennis, Glenn attended Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

Glenn was a family man and a collector of antiques, coins, and anything he could wheel and deal. He loved watching Boston sports games and car auctions on TV. Known for his sense of humor and always quick with a joke, Glenn was the life of the party. You could always count on him to tell you a great story, including those about his road trips in his younger years, when he would drive classic cars across the country. Continuing with his love of driving later in life, Glenn took every opportunity he could get to cruise around town and visit family and friends.

Glenn is survived by his four children, April, Michael and his wife, Beth, Ryan and his partner, Cate Kendall, and Devin and his partner, Julia Metjian; three brothers, Alan Swanson, Gary Garbitt and his wife, Kathy, and Brian Garbitt; two sisters, Lorraine Carlson, and Melanie Rivard and her husband, Rick; three grandchildren, Emily, Matthew and Madelyn; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held on his birthday in April 2021.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.

Sending all my thoughts and prayers to al 4 of Glenn’s kids & their significant others, grandchildren, siblings and nieces/ nephews. Being April’s sister I was fortunate enough to be included in many of his cookouts and family gatherings. He never looked at my brother Joe or I in a different way and welcome us with open arms always. My sister would tell me she had breakfast with him every Sunday, I really admired that he did that for her. He was the kind of guy we should all strive to be, laid back, compassionate, funny, caring, non judge mental & kind. He will be greatly missed. I will be sure to think of you whenever I hear Don Henley sing

To all of my cousins and Glenn's children, hearing last Saturday of his passing, took my breath away. For many years he brought all of his extended family together and reminded us of how lucky we were to be related and to love one another. I will miss his smile and quit wit, whenever we were lucky enough to run into one another. This has been an incredibly difficult year for all of us, but I hope you find some peace in knowing how much we all loved him. Please know how much all of you are in my thoughts and prayers, hugs. Love Leslie and family
