Marilyn Rouette of South Yarmouth, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the age of 75. Marilyn was born in Boston on January 31, 1945, to Martha Alice Bragg and  grew up in New Bedford, MA, where she attended school and received her high school diploma. She then went on to attend Cape Cod Community College earning her nursing degree.  In 1982 having attended the University of Phoenix  she received her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. She was a dedicated nurse at Cape Cod Hospital for 32 years.

Marilyn was predeceased by her first husband, Cassius Way Tandy, with whom she had two children: a daughter, Jocelyn Lee (Tandy) Bednark, age 56, and a son, Christopher Way Tandy, 55. She married her second husband, Omer Joseph Rouette, on May 2, 1990, whose four children became a part of her life.

She's survived by her husband, her children and his children, her sister, Paula Fisher, and her husband, Steve, and their two children, Jessica and Nicholas, her three grandchildren, Megan Toban(34), Jonathan Bednark(30), and Owen Tandy(19).

Marilyn was the matriarch of our family. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her cousins. Being a nurse was gratifying as she loved caring for so many. Marilyn also enjoyed cooking, watching her beloved New England Patriots, and being outside with her dogs, watching the birds. She looked forward to watching Jeopardy, even if she did not arrive at the correct answer.  Most of all, she loved raising her children and spending time with her grandkids all the while dancing, laughing, and spoiling them. Marilyn always fought for her family and extended family, including the Bednark's.

Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 2-4 P.M. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Floral arrangements welcome.
