Nancy D. Hand, 78 of Hyannis Port left her earthly body on December 6, 2020 and has been freed from all physical pain, although she would want you to know that she was still sharp as a tack. Born and raised in Framingham, MA Nancy graduated from Framingham High School in 1960 and attended Mansfield Beauty Academy in Boston, obtaining her Cosmetology license. She worked in the cosmetology field for many years, and also enjoyed many years working as a Home Health Aide. Nancy was forever grateful to have survived polio at the age of 11 and to have not only walked again, but to have been given many years of fruitful living.

Nancy was a talented seamstress, had a flair for making other people’s trash into beautifully restored treasures, she taught ceramic classes and created beautiful porcelain dolls, among other things. She had many creative talents that she liked to share with others. Nancy was a great friend and gave her time and talents to others when they were in need. Nancy enjoyed the beach, fried seafood and cruising around in her convertible.

Nancy leaves behind her daughters, Marlene Weinert (Mike) of New Port Richey, FL and Jennifer Lawrence (Brian) of Centerville; five grandchildren, Alex Weinert of White Salmon, WA; Joshua Weinert of Asheville, NC; Casey Weinert of Tampa, FL; Shauna Lawrence and Brian Lawrence of Centerville, her Brother Richard Neitz (Betty) of South Yarmouth, her Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. An avid animal lover, she also leaves her beloved Dog Molly. Nancy was predeceased by an infant daughter, Colleen, and infant son, Peter, along with her parents Richard C. Neitz and Edith V. (Tupper) Neitz Neeld, and her former husband, Dennis L. Hand.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no services are planned at this time. Interment will be private.

I was shocked to hear of Nancy's passing. Had talked to her not long before. Will miss our hour long conversation and her telling me all about what Molly was doing and how much comfort and company she was for her. RIP, Nancy. Will miss you.
