Pauline (Polly) A. Taylor, 78, of South Yarmouth died on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Cape Cod Hospital. She was the wife of the late William E. Taylor for 48 years. Born and raised in Plymouth, Pauline was the daughter of the late Willard and Barbara Tibbetts. She met the love of her life, Bill in Plymouth during the summer of 1969 and they were married three months later.

Polly loved cooking and trying new recipes. Her favorite part of the whole year was hosting yearly Columbus Day parties where the house shook with laughter, and the door was always open. She spent many weekends away in North Conway, NH with her husband. Pauline worked at Davenport Companies in South Yarmouth as an accountant for twenty years. After retirement, you could find Pauline sunning herself on her back deck, and in the winter, she was bent over a card table trying to assemble a large puzzle.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all.

Pauline is survived by her son, Michael Taylor and granddaughter, Emma Taylor of South Yarmouth; three nieces Jennifer Zupperoli and Heidi King of Plymouth, Jill Parillo of Bristol, NH; and a nephew Todd Taylor of Dennis. She was predeceased by her brother Dennis Tibbetts of Plymouth.

Funeral services will be private, and a celebration of her life will be held when it is once again safe to do so.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.

Sadden to hear of the passing of Polly. No one could forget that lovely smile she always had, not to mention those lovely chocolate treats she was famous for. Rest in Peace my friend , you will be missed.

Michael, we were both shocked and saddened upon hearing about your mother’s death. We have so many fond memories of both your Mon and Dad. Among those memories, we loved the times we all vacationed in Rangeley.

It is with a heavy heart that I think of Polly's passing. Yet it is also with a joyful heart that I recall her laughter! I never eat a hermit bar without thinking of Polly's cooking treats. She will be missed by all who knew her.
