Beverly A. (Ball) Donley, 89 of Centerville (formerly of Yarmouth Port), passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on January 24, 2021.

Born in Worcester, MA she was the daughter of Frederick D. Ball and Olga E. (Knorring) Ball. She had five siblings, Jacqueline, Marjorie, Gloria, Fred Jr. and Norman. Beverly grew up in Worcester attending Worcester public schools. She worked at Norton Company in Worcester in the billing department. She loved Nat King Cole and Ted Williams. On a visit to the Cape for the weekend, she would meet and ultimately marry her husband Arthur. They were married at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Worcester on May 30, 1959 and remained so for 54 years until Arthur passed on in 2013.

The two moved to Yarmouth Port to start their life together and raise a family, where they were surrounded by several good neighbors and friends. Beverly worked at the Christmas Tree Shops for 15 years where she made several close friends. Monday afternoons they could be found at Bev’s, sitting around the kitchen table drinking coffee and eating pastries. She was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Linda Donley-Hosking and her husband Richard of Marstons Mills; son Peter Donley and his wife Lisa of Centerville; 3 grandchildren, Michael Gorrell and his wife Jodie of Des Plaines, IL, Melissa (Gorrell) Monroe and her husband Ryan of Centerville, and Peter John Arthur Donley of Centerville; several cherished nieces and nephews and lots of extended family and friends.

The table at Sunday dinner was filled with family and often strangers who later became friends. Beverly had many aliases from Mom, Ma, Nana, Bubba, Auntie Poopie, and Mrs. D among others.

Beverly’s family would like to express their thanks to Cape Cod Hospital medical team and Mugar 4th floor nurses for their compassion and care during her stay at the hospital.

Burial will be private. A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at a later date.
