Louise (Cowart) Sullivan 99, of Dennis died peacefully at her home Wednesday February 3 , 2021.

She was the wife of the late John J. Sullivan. Born and raised in Garfield, GA, Louise was the daughter of the late Abhu J. and Lela (Deal) Cowart.

Louise was a devoted mother of four children. She was a wonderful cook and her Southern roots shined in her dishes, and many people raved about her legendary homemade pecan pie.

Before turning 50, Louise discovered golf. It became her life’s pursuit. She was twice President of the Cape Cod League of Women Golfers, President of Dennis Pines Women’s League, Club Champion at Dennis Pines and she achieved two holes in one in 1986 and 2014. She was able to play well into her 90s.

A proud patron of the Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National, Louise looked forward to attending every year. She last attended her 64th Masters in 2018.

The Sullivan family would like to express their gratitude to Darlene, and the others, who so lovingly cared for Louise.

Louise is survived by four children, Patricia Elder and her husband, Harold of Chelsea, Barbara Sullivan and her fiancé, Richard Emerson of Portland and Long Island, Maine, John D. Sullivan and his wife, Lisa of Wellesley and Long Island, Maine, and Regina Work and her husband Bruce of East Dennis; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private.

As an expression of sympathy, do something kind for someone.
