Stanley L. Flynn of Yarmouth Port, MA departed this world suddenly on March 21 while recovering from a cardiac event. Born to the late William B. and Jane (Stanley) Flynn on January 16, 1941 and raised in Portland, the Maine native was a graduate of Deering High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He attended the University of Montana before returning to New England and beginning his career in sales.

In 1966, he was set up on a blind date and introduced to the “love of his life”, Annda Witherell. They married in 1967 and welcomed their son, Bill a year later in Massachusetts, after which they moved to California, where they welcomed their second son, Chris.  The family continued to tour the country, leaving the west coast for Connecticut, then on to Kentucky and Ohio before returning to Massachusetts and settling-in on Cape Cod.

Stan retired in 2000, having risen to general manager of a small manufacturing company. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and being outside, becoming a champion at puttering in the yard.

Stan leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Annda (Witherell) Flynn; his son, William D. Flynn and his family, Sonia Miller and Jessica Thrasher of Stoneham, MA; his son, Christopher M. Flynn of Phoenix, AZ; his sister, Linda J. (Flynn) and her husband, Robert Holmes of Scarborough, ME; his granddaughter, Lucy and her mother, Marjanna Barber-Dubois of Dedham, MA and cousins, nieces, nephews and grands. Last but not least, he leaves behind his faithful Corgi companion, Moogie.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.

Contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute or to the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

Dear Annda, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I will always remember the time you and Stan came to New Hampshire for the "Punkin Chunkin" and had lunch at my house. What a nice day that was. A lovely memory of you and Stan. Fondly, Gail
