The village of East Dennis mourns the loss of a legacy patron. On April 19, 2021, Paul Albert Sears, age 76, passed away at Cape Cod Hospital after a lengthy illness.  He lived his entire life in East Dennis, extending the Sears legacy dating back to its origin in 1639.

Paul was a graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, class of 1962. His career encompassed construction work for Peter Nyberg and master mechanic for Bob Bates Auto Care Center. In his early days, he could be found at the counter of the original Marshside Restaurant, Joe Mac’s and Crowe’s Pasture on weekends. He was an avid car enthusiast with a passion for drag racing.

He is received by his predeceased wife, Barbara Ann Sears.  He leaves behind two children, James Watson and his wife, Charlene, and Christine Gent and her fiancé, Walter Kelly; five grandchildren, Brian, Alexandra, Dillon, Gabrielle, and Lauren. Most recent additions to the family include two great grandchildren, Raelynn and Sawyer.  He is also survived by his older sister, Jeannete (Sears) Wood, of East Dennis as well his nephew, Jon and his wife, Margaret Wood, and his niece, Denise and her husband, Jack Threlkeld, all of Centerville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday May 1 at 1:00 P.M.in Quivet Cemetery, South Street, East Dennis.
