Diane Hoffman Amaducci, 77, of Parsippany, New Jersey, passed away on May 19, 2021. Diane was born to Herbert and Shirley Hoffman in White Plains, New York, in 1943.

She studied teaching at Westchester Community College and University of New York at New Paltz, then settled in Parsippany, New Jersey, where she and her husband Robert resided and raised their four children. She was a pioneering advocate for cultural arts and foreign languages in public schools and area programs. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the Parsippany Ambulance Squad, and supporter of museums. Diane was a Deacon of the Parsippany Presbyterian Church before joining the congregation at St John’s Episcopal Church in Montclair.

Her heart, however, was always on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She proudly ran Tinkertown Cottages, a family owned and operated business for over 75 Years. Decades of summer guests hailing from all over the world sent countless thank you cards, regaling her hospitality, tours of the lesser-known parts of Cape Cod, clamming outings, exceptional flower gardens and tales of her worldwide travels.

She was an award-winning photographer and long-time enthusiast and supporter of the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch, where she introduced so many to once-in-a-lifetime whale encounters and even assisted onboard scientists with photo identification of whales. Diane loved Bass River. She was an avid beetle cat sailor in her youth and a member of Bass River Yacht Club. She was also a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church. She was a supporter of the local Chamber of Commerce, the Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments, Hospice of Cape Cod, Vietnam Veterans and countless other causes. In her spare time, she could be found in Longboat Key, Florida, shelling and volunteering as a Docent at Mote Aquarium and at the Sarasota Shell Club. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s altered her life.

Diane’s pride and joy were her four children, James Amaducci, Suzanne Amaducci-Adams and her husband Shawn, Patricia Amaducci and Michael Amaducci, and her granddaughter Sophia. Diane was predeceased by her husband Robert Amaducci and her brother Woody Hoffman.

A memorial service will be held on July 31, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at St. David's Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth, MA 02664.

In lieu of flowers which Diane loved, she  requested that  people continue her traditional donations to some favorite charities, Cape Cod Healthcare,( www.support.givetocapecodhealth.org/donate, & select VNA Hospice), Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad ,(www.pvas.org) or  St. David’s Episcopal Church ( www.stdavidscapecod.org), or that you help friends and strangers in every day ways.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Diane was a very special person always thinking of others. We would go to the "99" restaurant almost every week. I miss her. She was a special friend. May she rest in peace. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly Shirley

We remember Diane, not only as a faithful parishioner of St. David’s in South Yarmouth, but as a frequent and loyal customer of our wood carving business, The Carvers Barn. Our almost daily visits to Tinkertown to deliver our signs she used around the complex, but also to pray with her in her meditation garden. We loved her dearly and will miss her. We are thankful that we are able to visit her before we moved to Florida. May she Rest In Peace and rise in glory.

Going on 30-35 years ago, I fondly remember Aunt Diane taking me to the “Morris Museum” on several occasions and “ the Museum of Natural History” in NYC. These were good times. Sad to hear of her passing.
