Laurie Margaret Fisher (Née Tripp) passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 in Hyannis after a year-long journey with vascular dementia. She leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship and love.

Laurie was a native Cape Coddah, born in Hyannis, and a graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth High School. Although she lived in other locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland and Pennsylvania, she returned to live on the Cape (in Yarmouth Port) in the early 2000s where she remained for the rest of her life.

Laurie was passionate about her grandchildren, photography and gardening. She and her beloved husband, Bob Fisher, traveled the length and breadth of New England, capturing stunning images of the bountiful beaches and lighthouses of the eastern seaboard. She and Bob also put in many hours and much love into the garden of their Yarmouth Port home. Laurie was especially proud of her beautiful Rose Mallow plant (Hardy Hibiscus).

Laurie was the daughter of Edward J. Tripp and Gertrude (Vanasse) Tripp.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Fisher; her 5 children: Lisa Ryder McCormack, Valerie Ryder Letelier, Michael S. Ryder, Andrew J. Ryder, Kristina T. LeBlanc; her sister Kathleen Jones; and 9 beloved grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Laurie will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 20th at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the South Dennis Cemetery next to the Congregational Church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Alzheimer’s Family Support Center in Brewster, MA.
