Louis J. Spritza, Jr.
Feb 10th, 2026
Louis J. Spritza Jr., 80, of South Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 12, 1945, to Louis and Mary Spritza of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Louie was raised in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1963. He carried the values of family, loyalty, and hard work with him throughout his life.
Louie was the devoted husband to his beloved wife, Catherine Spritza of Yarmouth, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Their bond was the foundation of a close-knit family that brought Louie his greatest pride and joy.
He was the proud father of Catherine Molloy and her husband Bart of Westwood; Amy Burke and her husband Jon of Medfield; and Louis J. Spritza III and his wife Julia of Weymouth. Louie was a loving and cherished “Papa” to Timothy and Ryan Molloy, Ava Burke, and Amber and Louis J. Spritza IV. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his grandchildren, making them laugh and creating memories they will carry with them forever.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Maryann Wheeler and her husband Harold of Weymouth, and Sara Prakop of Pembroke, along with several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends he considered family.
Louie will be remembered for being larger than life and truly the life of the party. A comedian—who was always ready with a joke, a story, or a playful comment. He was a loyal friend, a protector to many and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He was happiest in the sunshine, listening to music, smoking a cigar, planning his next vacation and was famous for his many unfinished projects.
His warmth, kindness, generosity, and integrity touched all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and consistent devotion to family.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. South Yarmouth, MA. 02664. A funeral Mass has been changed to Thursday February 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. Donations in Louie’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital

I’ve known Louie for 70 years! He was the sweetest. Kindest Friend with the BEST sense of humor! Rest in Peace my Friend surrounded with Love. ♥️
Catherine, Cathy, Amy, Joey. Very Sad news, to hear of Louie's passing. He was such a big part of my Wheeler/Spritz extended Family. The funny moments at parties, and on the golf course are so vivid to me now, as I remember Him. He could Always make my Mother laugh, and that was not an easy task. You never knew what he would bring to the party, but you knew it would be a lasting memory. May those memories provide your Family comfort in the days ahead. All My Love. Teddy Wheeler
