David R. Orvosh
share

David Ross Orvosh received his crown of life and danced through Heaven’s gates on Sunday, August 28th, after 51 years of joyful and loving service to his family. His last moments were shared at the home that he considered paradise on earth in Barnstable, MA, with his closest family. Born in Medford, MA, David was the oldest of 12 cousins, who each thought they were his favorite because of the love and attention he lavished on them.

The house on Capen Street was a home base for family and friends alike, where Dave often hosted tea times for his friends from school, prayer groups, and CAMPS. With three floors of family, David functioned as far more than a son, brother, nephew, or cousin. He was the executor, anchor, coach, cheerleader, muscle, counselor, and best friend.

Dave built a career in technology and bought his house in Reading in 2000, which became the new home base for his hospitality and generosity. He continued serving at CAMPS and began a new chapter at New Life Fine Arts. For more than 20 years, he portrayed various characters, all with the same goal - to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In and out of character, he pointed past this life to eternity.

As Dave’s family grew, adding cousins and godchildren, he became a mainstay for the next generation; one of his godsons, Josiah, lovingly gave him the nickname “Beef", which he wore proudly, despite the occasional odd reception elicited.

From choreographed musical productions to impromptu trips across the world, wise counsel to photo bombing every picture possible, singing his heart out to dancing his feet off, Dave lived life to the fullest. He was confident, gentle, selfless, patient, and faithful. He was the hands and feet of Jesus through unending giving and relentless hard work for others.

His legacy continues, and he will be missed by all who knew him - especially his mother Joan and brother Jordan, best friend Joanna and father Tom, his godchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, pastors, mentees, students, neighbors, coworkers, cast mates, and anyone fortunate enough to have met him.

A memorial tribute service to celebrate his life will be held at New Life Community Church in Concord, MA, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s name to one of the organizations that he loved and served so faithfully:
Donations to New Life Fine Arts can be made here: https://newlifefinearts.org/donate/
Donations to CAMPS can be made here: https://campsministry.com/give

For those unable to attend the service on Saturday, it will be live streamed at the link below. After the service, the same link will access the recording. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-zxBEexovY

To say that I am heartbroken is an understatement . My love and prayers are with you, Mrs. Orvosh, Jordan and Joanna. He was the greatest friend and a true blessing in my life since I was 15 years old. He is with his Maker, the keeper of the stars ⭐️. I know he is suffering no more. Not a day will go by for the rest of my life that I don’t think of him and smile at all the memories I have with him. Sending much love and prayers to all of you and the extended family. -Leah Surette

I worked with Dave for several years, and I always appreciated his partnership. We spent quite a bit of time together on a project in India that really brought us closer together and where we really became friends. I always found him to be kind, open, and just absolutely good people. I'm so sorry he's gone, I miss him already, and I send him my prayers.

I worked with David at Dimension Data/NTT, and he was an amazing person all around. Highly intelligent thinker, while also very personable. Could also be very hilarious at times. He was a great leader for us managing the project of a new team in India, and he seemed to really enjoy that opportunity. I know many of our team overseas loved having him there just as I did.

Our deepest sympathy to David's family. I have such fond memories driving my daughter Kimberly (Masucci)to Matignon from Boxford (she was a student at Masconomet where she would choreograph Matignon plays.( Greg Young from Masco recommended Kim to Matignon) David was like a big brother along with Rob Surette since she was 2 years younger They treated her with respect as she blocked the performances. Sitting in the audiences during rehearsals I hold dear those days and the life long friendship Kim had with the "boys".

Joan, Jordan, Joanna and family, As I was reading Dave's obituary, I found myself agreeing with every single word and sentiment......and then some. When I think of him, I remember that he always, always had a big smile on his face and a kooky sense of humor to put one on mine. We are so sorry for your loss and the sadness you feel, and are praying that you will feel those everlasting arms holding you. I know you are anchored in that living hope, knowing that one day, the reunion will be sweet. We love you all.

Dearest Joan and Jordan, Sincerest and heartfelt condolences upon hearing. Fondly remembering David ever since he was a child. I have no other words as they would be horribly inadequate, except I'm so terribly sorry and so heartbroken for you. Lots of love from me to you.

I am sending my sincere condolences to David’s family and friends. This is such a sad time, and my heart hurts over his loss. I hope that memories of David and all the wonderful things he did give you peace and bring a smile to your faces. I know David through CAMPS where I babysat Josh and Jenny while Steve and Andrea Poulin worked on the program. Dave joyously participated in the program that was transformative for so many high school students, and I enjoyed seeing him in all the activities. But before that, I knew him as part of Steve’s wedding party when he married my daughter, Andrea. (He is in many of their wedding photos.). He impressed me as a very kind, gentle, loving soul who enjoyed having fun and embraced the joys of life with all his heart and spirit. His enthusiasm and energy will be missed.

David was there. He was always there for anyone and everyone he knew. He impacted the Gray family deeply and he would be ready at any time to come to the rescue if we needed him. Time and time again he served others with joy and diligence. Every day I wake up to the light coming into our home through the windows that David so beautifully installed many years ago. He was a light to all of the Lord's goodness and grace. He used to say all the time "one person at a time". You reach people one at a time by giving them all you have in that moment. David was like that. He will be missed but we know he has safely arrived where his heart yerned for. To walk with Jesus. He is home at last.

Dave was my manager at RCH Solutions. His notion of management wasn't to tell me what to do but to ask me what he could do to help me get the job done. People like that are rare and he will be missed.
