Kathleen Martin-Estus passed away at home in South Yarmouth on November 12, 2023. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY to William H. and Olga (DiFrank) Martin. She grew up in Poughkeepsie and following graduation from Poughkeepsie High School Kathleen went on to St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and Northeastern University’s Nurse Practitioner’s Program. Kathleen spent fifty years in the nursing profession and was proud to be the first Nurse Practitioner Director of Employee Health at Mass Mutual National Headquarters.

Kathleen was married to James B. O’Neill for twenty-one years with whom she shared three children and many grandchildren. She was later married to Charles W. Estus for twenty-eight years. In 2002 Kathleen and Charles retired to Yarmouth to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Kathleen loved being a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth and loved spending time with friends, volunteering and “chatting” in the church thrift shop.

Kathleen is survived by her son James W. O’Neill, his wife Susan and grandson Keir; her daughter Sheila A. O’Neill, her granddaughter Hailey Sears and great granddaughter Hayden; her daughter Meghan (O’Neill) Frazier, her husband John Sr. and their children, Sarah, John Jr., and Katie; her stepdaughter Deborah Orandon, stepson Charles Estus Jr. and his wife Julie and granddaughter Alamea. Her brother Thomas Martin and sister Maureen (Martin) Fralick predeceased her.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5-7 pm at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10 am at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth, MA. Interment at Woodside Cemetery, Summer St, Yarmouth Port, MA.

Dear, dear friend Kathleen. You brought so much joy into my life. I will never forget our wonderful times together especially all the sewing machine lessons I gave you and all the repairs to your sewing machine. Rest in peace. Love and blessings to your family.

I, Don, enjoyed the many Communion visits with Charles which is how I came to know, and love, Kathleen. We will miss you and your wonderful, positive spirit. Rest in eternal peace dear friend.
