Mary Jane “Jamie” Rice

February 9, 1939 - December 12, 2023

Jamie Rice, 84 years of age, passed away on Cape Cod after a very brief illness. She was a long-time resident of Yarmouth Port and is survived by her six children and eight grandchildren. Jamie was born in Cincinnati Ohio to Fred and Eleanor Reinert and was the older sister to her brother William Reinert who passed away February 2021.

Jamie was a professional tour guide and world traveler having visited twenty-two countries to include, Vietnam, Estonia, Russia, South Africa, China and England. Through her travels she developed many close friendships that she cherished and broadened her view and understanding of our world and cultures.

Jamie volunteered her time with the Yarmouth Port “Friday Club”, was active in local organizations and an accomplished stained glass artisan. Jamie created many unique arts and crafts reflective of Cape Cod life. She lived and enjoyed life on her terms, was tenacious and will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and many friends.

A Funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Chapel in Yarmouth Port with Jamie being laid to rest in Woodside Cemetery (Plot 743B).
