Joanne Theodora Kotsaftis, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed peacefully in Brewster, MA on February 1, 2024, surrounded by her children. Born in Boston, MA on June 6, 1940, she grew up in Newton, MA  and graduated from Lasell College. She worked as a waitress and later as an office manager while raising her four children in Waltham, MA. She moved to Cape Cod in 1999, where she spent most of her remaining years. An avid reader who loved animals and the beach, she was very proud of her Greek ancestry, loved Greek food and dancing and visited Greece several times.
 
She is predeceased by her mother, Demetra "Jenny" (Arvanitis), and father, James Kotsaftis. She is survived by her children Christine, William, Stephen, and Althea McLaughlin; her grandchildren Evan, Billy, Eric, and Jennifer McLaughlin; her brothers Charlie and John Kotsaftis; and several nieces and nephews.
