Ian Scott Nicholson
May 30th, 2024
Ian Scott Nicholson, a beloved father, son, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2024, in Hyannis, MA. Ian was born in Hyannis on February 17, 1983. He leaves behind his daughters, Cassidy Nicholson and Zoey Nicholson, their mother Samantha Aronne, his mother Sharon Miller and his father Stephen Nicholson and his wife Doris.
In true Cape Cod local fashion, his life and legacy were deeply interwoven in the communities of which he was a part. Ian graduated from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in the culinary arts department. Among his many achievements during his high school career his time on the basketball court was some of his proudest memories. The time he spent reminiscing about his friendships in high school were mostly interrupted with a burst of laughter and a shake of his head. He had the time of his life. In fact, he went back to Cape Cod Tech this past fall and coached the girls basketball freshmen team, something he was so honored to do.
Professionally, Ian could have been found in any top-rated kitchen on Cape Cod. However, his home kitchen was always The Chatham Squire, a place where he was able to perfect his culinary skills as a chef as well as being part of the close-knit Squire family.
With all of Ian’s titles in life, his favorite was Dad. A true girls’ Dad, Ian embraced having two daughters. He was never one to shy away from a manicure or new hair-do. He never said no to a trip to Target and always encouraged his daughters to “get back up and try again”. There is no word to capture the love he had for his two daughters. He truly was their “Superman”.
In addition to his daughters and parents he is survived by his paternal grandparents Stephen and Suzanne and his beloved siblings Kelly, Elias and James. He will never be forgotten by the two other musketeers, Jackie and Brad and will be missed by the many cousins and friends he had through his lifetime.
Ian’s mark on this world will last forever.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA 02664 on Friday, June 14 from 5-7pm. A private memorial service will be held with plans for a celebration of life at a later date.
