Edward H. Hasty, Jr., 88, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away on May 9, 2025 surrounded by his family. Edward was born on May 20, 1936 in Worcester, MA. Edward graduated from Commerce High School, Clark University and New England School of Accounting. He and Beverly met at Adams Square Baptist Church in Worcester where their families were both involved. The two became inseparable and later married on June 15, 1957 at Adam Square Baptist Church, in Worcester, MA. They went on to have two children, Alan and Carolann.

Edward spent his entire career in the food industry, beginning at Worcester’s E.T. Smith Co. Opportunity took him to New Hampshire and The Cross Companies where he held numerous positions as he advanced to Executive VP/COO. In 1971 he joined Hallsmith Foods which later became Sysco’s largest distribution center under Ed’s leadership. Edward and Beverly retired to Florida in 1996 allowing them more time for their tennis and travel passion as well as more time for their family and church. From meals for the homeless to taking West Lebanon Baptist from a small rented house to a brand-new building, Ed was always involved in his church. Cook, Deacon, Teacher or whatever was needed was what he did to help. While life and location allowed him to serve God and several churches, one church always remained special. Adams Square Baptist, the place where he found God and his bride.

Edward was predeceased by his parents, Edward Sr. and Annie (Brennen) Hasty, brother James and sister-in-law Barbara Hasty and brother-in-law, Raymond Comeau.
