Ryan N. Baker, 41 years old, of Coventry, RI, passed away on May 11, 2025, a day before his 42nd birthday, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Ryan was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Ryan was born in Hyannis, MA, the son of Eric Baker and Patricia Maguire on May 12, 1983. He attended Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School, graduating in 2002. While attending school Ryan excelled in sports and made lifelong friends referred to as the “Baker Crew.” Ryan worked as a lawn care technician for 4everGreen for many years enjoying the landscapes he would service and the many dogs that he would encounter throughout the day. Ryan enjoyed golfing, watching New England sports (mostly the Patriots and Celtics, for which he was known to superstitiously switch jerseys during games) and spending time with his family, especially his two young children who adored him. Ryan was one to make people laugh and never lost his sense of humor continuing to keep all who were around him smiling with his continuous “Dad jokes.” He managed to even crack one final joke to his wife, two weeks before his passing, in the emergency room in his continuous effort to try and keep her at ease and smiling.

Ryan is survived by his wife Jessica Baker, their children Declan (six) and Nora (three), and his beloved dog Bruschi of Coventry, RI, his father Eric Baker of Yarmouth Port, MA, mother Patricia Maguire and stepfather David Ayer of Dennis Port, MA, his brother Brendan and his wife Lindsay Baker of Dennis, MA, and his paternal grandparents Elizabeth and John Baker of Yarmouth, MA along with his aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces, and nephews. Ryan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Jean and Harry Maguire of Weymouth, MA.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 22nd at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Church in Sandwich, MA. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 21st, from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. South Yarmouth, MA.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
