In Loving Memory of Michael W. Jensen Michael W. Jensen, 65, of South Dennis passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28th, surrounded by his family . He leaves behind his devoted wife of 47 years, Cindy Jensen, who was the center of his world. He will be deeply missed by his son Michael and wife Liz of Leominster; his daughter Lori and her husband Travis of Wesley Chapel, FL; his cherished grandchildren Kaylee, Elise, Caleb, and Cole; his brother Martin (and wife Kim), stepbrother Larry; his stepsister Leslie; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

Michael was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Vivianne Terrace and Walter Jensen, who predeceased him.

Born in Worcester, Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1985. He carried that same spirit of service throughout his life, giving his time to the Dennis Conservation Land Trust (DCL) and coaching dek hockey for his son. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and ability to make everyone around him feel special.

To his grandchildren he was “Grampy,” and to friends he was “Cappy,” “Mr. J,” or “Big Mike.” No matter the name, everyone knew him as someone full of love, laughter, and generosity. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, whether cheering them on at their activities, sharing stories, or simply enjoying their company—those were the moments that brought him the greatest joy.

He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Bruins, feeding the bluebirds and orioles that visited his yard, and taking great pride in keeping his home and garden beautiful. More than anything, Michael treasured his time with Cindy. Whether they were traveling, camping with family, or simply sharing a quiet moment on the back deck together, those were the times that filled his heart. His greatest legacy is the love he gave to his family and the memories they will carry forward.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dennis Conservation Land Trust (dennisconservationlandtrust.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org). A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
