Dennis James DuVerger, 63, of South Dennis, passed away on September 3, 2025.
Dennis was born on April 20, 1962, in Milford, MA, to Robert P. and Florence C. Bertone DuVerger. He grew up playing baseball and excelling in hockey. He attended Cape Cod Tech for plumbing where he graduated with the Class of 1980.
Following high school Dennis proudly served six years in the United States Marine Corps. He was recognized for his exemplary service, receiving a Good Conduct Medal, earning early advancement to corporal and being described by his Major General as a “superior Marine” and he was noted as a sharpshooter. Dennis continued his professional life as a plumber, a trade he pursued for the remainder of his career.
Family was always at the center of Dennis’s life. His first marriage to Linda Mcdonald with whom he had two children. He later married Maureen Cox with whom he had another child. He was a proud and devoted father of three sons: Cody Ryan DuVerger, Zachery James DuVerger and Cole Macenzie DuVerger. Dennis was also blessed with five grandchildren who brought him great joy: Dominic and Addison DuVerger, children of Zachery and his wife Shelly and Layla, Maggie and Abraham, children of Cody and his fiancée Sarah. He was a true Boston sports fan. Dennis loved cheering on his teams, especially the N.E. Patriots and sharing that passion with his family.
Dennis is survived by his mother Florence C. Bertone DuVerger, his children Cody R., Zachery J. and Cole M., his grandchildren; Dominic, Addison, Layla, Maggie and Abraham, his brother, Robert P. DuVerger, Jr. and his wife Sharon of South Carolina, nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert P. DuVerger Sr and brother Scott N. Duverger.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. S Yarmouth, MA on Sunday Sept. 14 from 1:00-3:00 pm with a prayer service at 3:00 pm. A private burial with military honors will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Dennis’s love will live on through his boys and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. Semper Fi, Marine
