Madeleine V. Paradis, 98, passed away on Sunday, September 14 at her home in South Yarmouth, Ma. She was born the oldest of ten children on August 9, 1927, to Louis J. and Melvina (Duplessi) Paradis in Old Town, Maine.

She proudly served 20 years in the Army Nurse Corps, retiring with the rank of Major in May 1972.

She is survived by sisters Yvonne Paradis and Rita Costello of Old Town Maine, brothers Gary of Old Town Maine, Ronald and spouse Barbara of New Hartford New York and J. Alan and wife Paula of Bangor Maine. As well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Very special friends of So. Yarmouth, Rene and Gail and their spouses. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by sister Velma, brothers Louis A., Kenneth, and Donald, brother-in-law Joseph Costello, sisters-in-law Sally Paradis and Linda Paradis, Also, a very close friend Ruth Donavan preceded her in 1995.

There will be no visiting hours. A private burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne Ma. A private service will be held in Old Town Maine at a later date.
