Wayne Conlon, 68, of Dennisport, MA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on September 21, 2025.

Born in Enfield, CT, to Beverly (Wing) and Alfred Conlon, Wayne began his lifelong career in the fire service by following in his father’s footsteps with the Hazardville Fire Department. At 23, he moved to Dennis, MA, with his wife Donna to start their family and continue his calling with the Dennis Fire Department. Over four decades of dedicated service, he rose through the ranks and retired proudly as a Captain.

Outside of his career, Wayne found joy in time spent with family, boating, Nascar, summer days at Crowe’s Pasture, and playing softball, bowling, and darts.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Donna (Dunn) Conlon; his three sons, Christopher and his wife Lindsay, Adam, and Matthew; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison (23), Kali (20), Jakob (16), and River (4). He is also survived by his siblings Deborah and her husband Steve, Patrick and his wife Gloria, and Sandra and her husband Chris, all of Maine. He leaves behind two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, 10 nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and his loyal sidekick, Archie the Australian Shepherd.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hallett Funeral Home in South Yarmouth, with a celebration of life to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation at www.firehero.org/donate. Please note Captain Wayne Conlon’s name when making a gift.

Donna Marie, all of us Hazardvillians are so very sad to hear of Wayne's passing. We had such good times as "kids" doing all the crazy things we did. I hope you cherish all the memories you've had over your time together. We will miss him. Betty Slanetz
