Paul James Farrington
Oct 20th, 2025
Paul James Farrington, of Newton and Bass River, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was a proud graduate of Watertown High School, a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and a graduate of Northeastern University. He spent most of his career among buildings and bricks, serving as President of Spaulding Brick Company in Somerville, Massachusetts, for 45 years. He was known for his honesty, work ethic, leadership, messy desk, and golf game. Above all, he was devoted to his family and friends, who will forever remember his humor, kindness, and generous heart.
He was the beloved husband of Lucille Kiley Farrington, with whom he celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in August. Paul was the devoted father of Susan Farrington, Kelly McGuill, and Renee Grady (Peter); the cherished “Grampy” of Ryan (Amanda), Casey (Kelly), Kiley, Julia, and Jack; and the proud great-grandfather of Grace and Abby McGuill. He was also a loving father-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday October 25, from 9-10:30 am at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. S. Yarmouth, MA. 02664, followed by a funeral Mass in Saint Pius X Church, Barbara St. S. Yarmouth, MA. at 11am. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private.

Uncle Paul and Auntie Lu were the relatives of my dear neighbors and some of my best friends - The Watertown Farrington Family. There was always joy when the Newton Farrington's visited. They hosted many wedding and baby showers which were filled with laughter, stories and good food. My sympathy to Lu, Susan, Kelly, Rene and the extended family.
Paul was a dear friend of my brother, Joe Manning. They graduated from Watertown High School together, played golf together and enjoyed summers in Bass River with their families. Paul was a groomsman for Joe and his bride, Rita. My sister and I were bridesmaids and only yesterday I was looking at photos of the wedding. God bless Paul.
Our Deepest Condolences On behalf of all of us at At Ease Home Health Care, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Lucille Farrington and family on the passing of Mr. Farrington. It was truly an honor to have cared for him over the past year. His gentle spirit, sense of humor, and gratitude touched each of us deeply. He will be remembered with warmth and respect by everyone who had the privilege of spending time with him. May his memory be a blessing, and may Mrs. Farrington find comfort in the love and care that surrounds her. With sincere sympathy, The Caregivers and Staff of At Ease Home Health Care
Holding all of you in my heart and prayers. Sending Light and Love your way. Melissa
Paul welcomed the entire Grady family into his life when our brother Pete married Renee. His sonorous voice and hearty laugh were worthy of an Irish chieftain, and his kindness and generosity were worthy of a man of God. May he rest in peace and love.
Paul was the type of guy that I always enjoyed talking to. As my neighbor for so many years it all began when I noticed that my empty trash barrels were taken in! Who would do such a thing
