Gerald (Gerry) A. Acker,89, of Yarmouth Port, passed away on December 16th surrounded by family. He grew up in Newton and served in the US Marine Corp from 1953-1961.

He moved to Cape Cod in 1959 and resided in Dennis. He was a builder for many years, then followed his passion for golf and became a Golf Professional.

He is survived by his son Daniel Acker and wife Robin of Centerville, his grandsons Daryll and wife Leialoha Acker of Hyannis and Jeremy Acker of Los Angeles CA. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Dorothy Acker, his wife Faye (Smith) Acker and longtime companion Naureen Alzerini.
In lieu of flowers please raise a glass and toast in his memory.

Funeral services will be private in the spring.

Gerry used to come into Longfellows pub after hitting balls up the street at Bayberry hills golf course. We would talk all things golf during a few drinks, right down to the right grip to hold your club. Gerry knew his golf right down to the "tee" He was a great guy and taught me a lot. "RIP" Gerry
