Raymond William Caterino passed away at home in Dennis on December 23, 2025 at 71 years old after a courageous battle with dementia.

Raymond was born on July 14, 1954 and was the child of the late Cosmo and Eleanor Caterino. Raymond is survived by brother William Caterino of Westport, sister Candace Bosworth (Chandler) of Centerville, and preceded by his brother Paul Caterino. He was raised in Newton and summered in Harwich having deep roots and a love for Massachusetts.

Raymond is also survived by his wife Carole Caterino, his children Raymond and his wife Kristina Caterino of Dennis, Courtney and her husband Steven Long of Beverly, Eric Caterino of Dennis, stepchildren Jessica Lange of Yarmouth, and Salena Small of Hyannis. He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Isabella, Clara, Jude, Leon, Jasmine, Joshua and Tyrese, nieces and friends.

Raymond attended Newton South High and went on to graduate from Kents Hill in Maine in 1972. He was a strong athlete who played multiple sports in high school and college. Raymond studied at Quinnipiac College where he met Chris, his future wife and mother of his children, and later transferred to Bentley College to pursue playing baseball and graduated with a degree in Economics in 1976.

Shortly after finishing college, Raymond founded Northern Sealcoating and Paving in Dennis Port at the young age of 24 with a bucket, a dream, and an insurmountable work ethic. Ray built a successful company and worked diligently for 30 years; up early, home late, all in an effort to provide a great life for his family.

When Ray wasn’t on the job site digging holes and paving roads, he kept busy out on the golf course, in the gym, skiing, fishing, being with his family or watching his favorite sports teams. He never liked to sit still. Throughout the years Ray played in softball leagues and golf tournaments and was always proud to bring a trophy home. More than just winning, he truly enjoyed spending quality time with friends outdoors and having a cold celebratory beer afterwards.

Raymond married Carole Lange Caterino in January 2004 and they enjoyed time together going for walks on Cape Cod, vacationing to warm destinations, and exploring the coast of New England. Carole tirelessly cared for Ray over the past few years, all the way to his last moment with us.

Raymond’s proudest moments in life were seeing his family happy, successful, and raising families of their own.

All are welcome to celebrate Raymond’s life. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church in Harwich on January 3rd at 11:00am, followed by an internment at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis. A reception will be provided after burial. An additional celebration of life will be held on June 27, 2026 in Harwich Port.

Donations in Ray’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Family Support Center of Cape Cod in hope to provide resources to those who are suffering from this terrible disease.
