RICHARD D. BUCK
Dicky passed away very unexpectedly in the very early hours of December 23rd 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 27, 1935, in Boston to Herbert and Eleanor Buck. From his first breath, he lived every day of his 90 years to the absolute fullest. His zest for life was legendary.

He loved his family and is survived by his wife of 62 years Judith “Judy” (Sencabaugh), his two daughters, Linda  DeLane and her husband Anthony of West Barnstable and Alesia  Murray and her husband Thomas of South Dennis, his grandchildren Christopher  Johnson and his wife Meghan, and Zachary and Abigail Murray, and great grandson Aidan. He is also survived by his brother Herbert “Bert” Buck of Sarasota FL and several cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his Golden Retriever sidekick Ellie Mae who is just as heartbroken as we are.

He was predeceased by his parents, mother-in-law Viola Sencabaugh and his older brother Lee Buck of Weld, ME.

Dicky served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a very proud veteran. Upon returning to East Dennis from the war, his long and storied career began, first owning the Sinclair Station at the corner of 134 and 6A ,known to most as Bucky Beaver’s Magic Garage. He was a real estate broker, boat broker, USCG licensed captain, landscaper, still mowing lawns right through this past Fall!. Of course there was the limo business and so many people have shared such fun stories of their trips with Dicky. He could do just about anything he set his mind to; his ingenuity was nothing short of amazing and inspiring. He was everyone’s “go to guy”

Known for his intelligence, generosity, sharp wit, and sense of humor that was second to none, he was fearless, creative, strong, lively, and had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone out. He had an amazing musical ability. He could play just about any instrument and it was all by ear! He loved the Town of Dennis and the people in it. He leaves behind countless friends and acquaintances near and far who have told us of the indelible mark he has left on their lives.

This barely scratches the surface as to who he was but if you knew him, you know that.

Because he didn’t like wakes or funerals, it was always his wish to celebrate his life with a party full of laughter, NO TEARS!! To honor his wish, there will be a celebration of his life in the Spring. We will share the details as the time draws near.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the Cape & Islands Veteran’s Outreach Center, Veterans Food Pantry, 247 Steven St., Suite E, Hyannis, MA 02601 (please specify FOOD PANTRY)
