Dolores Ann Collette (Krula), 86, of East Dennis, MA passed away peacefully, after a long illness, surrounded by family, on January 22nd.

Born to Polish immigrant parents in Worcester, MA on March 6, 1939, Dolores was one of eight children. She was known by many as “Dolly” or “Nana”. Dolores was raised in South Grafton, where she grew up and graduated from high school in May of 1957. Just weeks after graduation, Dolores married the love of her life, Alan Collette, also of South Grafton. After welcoming three children, Dolores and Alan moved to Westborough. In 1965, they moved their family to East Dennis on Cape Cod where they raised their family and spent the remainder of their lives. Dolores worked at the Nathanial H. Wixon Middle School in Dennis as a secretary, where she touched the lives of many students with her kindness and generosity.

Dolores’s family was her world; she lived to nurture, support, and cherish them every day. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishments were her three children, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was their loudest cheerleader and never missed a special moment or event in their lives. Dolores was also an extraordinary cook who shared her Polish heritage through beloved family recipes, such as golumpki, pierogi, and her delicious whoopie pies. She honored her roots through food, sharing her life stories, and a deep love of family and tradition. Making gingerbread houses for Christmas, hosting holidays, and decorating Easter eggs were moments she treasured and looked forward to each year. These traditions brought her great joy and will continue to be carried on by her family. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, where she loved the excitement of the slot machines and the chance to try her luck. Dolores will be remembered for her warmth, devotion, and the way she brought her family together.

She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Alan Collette and her parents, Waleryan and Josefa Krula, her brothers, Thadeus, Joseph, Stanley, John, and her sisters, Sophia Adams, Veronica Krula, and Carrie Knapik. She is survived by three children, Alan Collette, Jr. and his wife Janet of East Dennis, Sharon Dumas and her husband Oliver of East Sandwich and David Collette of East Dennis. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, Kristin Bidga, her husband Bryan and their two children Zachary and Alexander, Kyla Tuckerman, her husband Alex and their two children, Riley and Walker, Amber Buzzard, her husband Scott, Jr. and their two children Scott III and Jack, David Collette, Jr., his wife Madison, and their two children Lowen and Miles, Brett Dumas, his wife Liz, and their daughter Adelyn, Sarah Mostone, her husband Alex and their two children Luca and Poppie, Trever Dumas, Allyson Collette and Julia Collette.

The family would like to thank her caregivers for the kindness, patience, and care they provided to her, especially Shelley, Sophie, Lenore and Hyacinth. Dolores now rests in God’s loving embrace, reunited with her husband Alan and all who went before her. Her legacy of faith, love, and loyalty to family will live on through those who were blessed to be part of her life.

Funeral services will be private.
