Thomas P. Donahue
Mar 14th, 2026
Thomas Donahue, of Burlington, Massachusetts, originally from Newton, passed away suddenly surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a life full of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
He was the devoted husband of Jean (Lorenzo) Donahue, the love of his life and the center of his world. They shared 56 years of marriage, building a life grounded in deep love, care, and unwavering partnership. Tom adored Jean in the quiet, everyday ways that mattered most—making sure she never woke up without her tea water already boiling and always putting her first. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on February 28th.
Tom was a proud father to Thomas Donahue Jr. and Sally Branham, Shawn Donahue and Kathleen MacMillan, and Alexandra Gail Lorenzano and Paul Ingeno. He also held a special place as a second father to Rick Barry and Maria Masini, and Linda and Mark Harrison—relationships he cherished deeply. His greatest joy was being Papa— or Papa T—to his grandchildren: Nicholas Carey, Charlotte “Charlie” Donahue, Shea Harrison, Makenna Ingeno, Anthony Ingeno, Maximus Ingeno, Alina Ingeno, Nicholas (Nico) Donahue, Lilli Donahue and Trevor Carey. He loved them deeply and was endlessly proud of each of them.
Tom was the son of Patrick and Alice Donahue, and the loving brother of Billy, Patrick Jr., and Mary Donahue.
Tom was truly one of a kind. He was larger than life in every sense: the stories, the laugh, the energy. He had a way of walking into a room and instantly lifting it, making people feel welcome, comfortable, and part of something. He made every minute more fun and every gathering more memorable.
He loved the beach- it was his happy place. Parker River Beach held a special place in his heart; it was there he proposed to Jean, beginning the life they would go on to build together.
Tom loved hard and showed up fully for the people he cared about, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, strength, and deep, unwavering love for his family. He loved and was loved by so many and will be missed more than words can say.
Something tells us heaven just got a little louder… and a lot more entertaining.
Services will be held at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA 02664 on Saturday March 28th from 9am to 12pm. A short prayer service will be held at the end of the visiting hours followed by a Celebration of Tom’s life at The Auld Triangle Irish Pub 412 Main St, Hyannis, MA from 1pm to 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Boys Town or to the Myrtle Beach Therapeutic RidingClub, two organizations that were near to his heart, in memory of Thomas Donahue
