Robert “Bob” Rolanti passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by family. Bob was born in Dorchester, Ma. to Anthony and Marian (Jackson) Rolanti, he grew up in Newton, Ma. and attended UMASS Amherst. He met his wife Mary “Penny” in 1969 and was married for 51 years until she passed in 2021. Bob and Penny moved to Cape Cod where Bob started as a carpet installer and construction supervisor eventually owning his own construction company. In July 1978 Bob became a full-time firefighter/paramedic serving the Town of Dennis and had a dedicated career until his retirement in 2003. In 1997, Bob became an elected member of the Barnstable County Retirement Board. For the next 27 years he worked diligently with the Board to assist active members and retirees throughout the County and the State to pass laws, increase pay, and help to improve working environments.

Bob and Penny loved to travel together visiting Europe, South America, Caribbean islands, most of the United States and Asia. The big man with and even bigger personality, Bob, enjoyed sailing, building and remodeling houses, drafting his own architecture plans, watching New England sports, woodworking and sharing his knowledge with his children. He will always be remembered for his storytelling, quick wit, easy laughter, Dad jokes and indulging in fine cuisine.

Bob is survived by his sons David and his wife, Geany of Martha’s Vineyard, Michael and his wife, Katie of New York, his daughter Roberta and her husband, David of Yarmouth Port and sister Joan and her partner, Warren of Rhode Island. Bob has two granddaughters, Victoria and Lauren and one great grandson, Damien. Bob is also survived by two nephews and their families. Bob is predeceased by his wife Penny and brothers Richard and Anthony.

Visitation will be held Sunday March 29, 2026, from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, Ma.
