Conner “Jay” Gould, 91, of So. Dennis, passed peacefully on March 18th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Jay was born on March 25th, 1934 in Washington, D.C to Mildred I. (Goodman) & Conner H. Gould. In his later adolescence, his family moved to Florida where he lived with his beloved Grandmother, Julia (Perry) Gould.

After enlisting in the US Air Force in 1952, Jay discovered his love for planes. With owning two in his lifetime, it became a personal hobby to travel in all directions and in every way that he could.

Jay loved to travel between Florida to Cape Cod, for work and his enjoyment as the beach was always held close to his heart. During his adventures on the road, he was referred to as the ‘Green Turtle’. This iconic CB handle was used for his travels, and even during his days driving the shores of Nauset Beach. He was widely known as this by friends and family.

In 1962 Jay packed up and settled on the Cape. Unknowingly this is where he would spend the rest of his days. There he had opened up Jay’s Auto and Marine Services as a Jasper Transmission Specialist. Jay had worked well into his retirement years and turned his once automotive shop into a bird house making endeavor.

If Jay wasn’t working, he was on the beach or he was on a boat, so it was never too hard to find if you needed him.

Well before his retirement years, Jay would make weekly trips to Nauset. Spending time with friends and family, enjoying his weekends at the beach and always finding some kind of ocean treat to snack on while he was there. It was a must in his life. Some of his favorite memories were created there and his family will always think back to those moments when speaking of the good times with Jay.

Retirement was full of warm days spent on his deck or in his workshop working away to make homes for the nature and wildlife he grew so fond of. These past few years, he enjoyed his retirement, relaxing at his home, watching the birds, and giving his little chippy friends treats.

Jay was a strong, determined, independent and all-around amazing man. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by those who loved him; memories of laughter, friendship, and the simple moments that mattered most.

Jay is survived by his wife, Joanne (Worthington) Gould, brother Robert W. Gould, daughters, Deborah-Anne (Bacon) Jacobs and husband Daniel E. Jacobs, Julie Marie (Gould) Slights, Jinjer Ann (Gould) Rogers, grandchildren Ralph Hoyt, Leanne Rogers, Joshua Hardy, Krystal Jacobs; many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Mildred I. (Goodman) Gould, Conner H. Gould, brother Thomas L. Gould, and granddaughter Kelly A. Jacobs.

Services will be private. A gathering for family will be held later in the spring where he will be put to rest with his beloved canines Buster and Ty, whom accompanied him throughout life and will continue to do so after.
