Patricia Davison
Apr 5th, 2026
Patricia (Gribenas) Davison, 87, of Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Pat was the daughter of Edna and Albert Gribenas. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Dennis Gribenas; her husband Edwin Murray; and her first husband, George Davison.
She is survived by five children: George Davison and his wife Chris; Patricia Inglesi and her husband Al; Jeanne Carbone and her husband Wayne; Ellen Lincourt and her husband Steven; and James Davison and his wife Susan. She is also survived by her brother Albert “Reggie” Gribenas, eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Corey, Amanda, Michael, Michaela, Shannon, and Colleen; and nine great grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Pat’s early years included summers on the beach in Salisbury, Massachusetts, collecting shells with her grandmother, “Mamo.” That love of the sea became a lifelong passion and eventually drew her to Cape Cod, where she lived for many years. She cherished time spent on the beach with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Later in life, she continued her love of shelling as a devoted leader and active member of the Marco Island Shelling Club.
Pat attended St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence and graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Brighton, MA, becoming a Registered Nurse. She spent many years working in the Emergency Department at Norwood Hospital, and later with VNA of Cape Cod, caring for patients with skill, calm, and compassion. Her nursing career reflected a deep commitment to service and healing.
A woman of profound faith, Pat was a devoted Catholic who earned a degree in Pastoral Ministry and Counseling from Emmanuel College in Boston. She served as a Pastoral Counselor at UMass Lowell, led the children’s choir at St. Brendan’s Church in Bellingham and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, offering spiritual care with humility and grace.
On the day before her passing, Pat spoke joyfully of happy dreams and cherished memories—a peaceful reflection fitting for Easter. May she rest in eternal peace.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 246 Main St, West Harwich, MA. Burial will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis.
