Marie (Gurreri) Napolitan
Apr 15th, 2026
Marie (Gurreri) Napolitan of Yarmouth, MA passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at Cape Cod Hospital at the age of 89.
Marie was born in Enfield, CT to Charles and Louise Gurreri. On June 21, 1958 she married the love of her life Carlo “Nappy” Napolitan. They raised a daughter, Donna, and two sons Richard and Ronald. Marie and her family moved to Cape Cod in 1974.
Marie is now reunited with her beloved husband Nappy. Marie was never able to say goodbye to her husband due to COVID, and she carried the weight of that on her heart with grace, courage and strength
.
Marie’s family was her world. Her time with her only daughter Donna was only 47 years before she passed away after a short but hard-fought battle with leukemia. From that day forward Marie’s love for her family became much more precious. The Napolitan household was a revolving door of family coming over weekly, especially on Sunday’s when we all knew the fresh batch of meatballs were made. At Christmas the room was always filled with laughter, trips down memory lane and memories in the making. If it wasn’t weekly, it was daily for someone from the family or a friend to be there ready for a day out shopping, going to craft fairs, a sporting event for her grandchildren and great children or to just hang out on the back deck on a beautiful day with some iced tea.
Marie is predeceased by her husband Carlo “Nappy” Napolitan, her daughter Donna Marie Napolitan, her father Charles Gurreri, her mother Louise Gurreri, her brother Samuel Gurreri and sister-in-law law Maureen, her sister-in-law Anna and husband Edward Carpenter.
She is survived by her son Richard Napolitan and his wife Tina, her son Ronald Napolitan and his wife Lisa and six grandchildren; James, Amanda and her husband Clinton Jamieson, Nick Napolitan and his wife Jenny, Kevin Napolitan, Stefan Napolitan and his wife Taysha, and Alex Napolitan, great grandchildren; Riley Marie, Zoey Donna, Noah and Natalie, as well as many extended family members.
Friends and family are invited for a time of visitation at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 12 o’clock noon followed by a service at 1 p.m. and interment at Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth, MA.
