It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Audrey J. (Craig) Leaver of Centerville, MA on Saturday April 25, 2026. She was 99 years old and died peacefully at her daughter’s home. She was the wife of the late Albert E. Leaver.

Audrey was born on September 28, 1926, daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Melling) Craig.

Raised in New Bedford, MA she was employed by Hathaway Manufacturing Company as a secretary before starting her family. She and her husband moved to Brockton, MA in 1959 and resided there until they retired in 1978, when they moved to Harwich, MA.

She was a member of Cranberry Valley Golf Club and played in the Nine Hole Women’s Golf League for 30 years. She won first flight low gross honors in 1987 and 1989 and won five first flight low net honors between 1986 and 2001. She also enjoyed playing with her dear friends Mildred, Lucy and Rosie, every Friday for many years.

Audrey loved participating in flea markets and antiquing with her daughter Jean. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting her family for Sunday dinners. She was an avid sports fan, closely following tennis and golf. She was also interested in politics and current events. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her children, Jean Edwards and David Leaver, both of Centerville, two grandchildren, Brian Hoey of Las Vegas, NV and Lindsay (Edwards) Behling and husband Adam, of Somers, CT.

The family wishes to thank Hospice for their wonderful care and support. The funeral will be private, and burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
