Humble, caring and full of grace, Kathy Budreski gave it her all to make the world a better place.

Kathleen (Kathy) Budreski, age 83, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of family in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts on July 25, 2026.

Born in April 1943 to Agnes and Gerry Duffly, Kathy received her education at Emmanuel College & Bridgewater State University becoming a registered nurse and obtained additional a masters in substance abuse counselling, transitioning to a hospice nurse, bereavement counselor and caregiver for the elderly after moving to Cape Cod.

Ever present and always active in the communities she lived in, Kathy worked diligently with care, grace and compassion to support families in need and enrich the lives of those around her. It gave her so much joy to make a positive difference in people's lives.

Kathy appreciated and took part in gardening, art, writing, outdoor adventures, travel and she loved a peaceful nap in her hammock. Her grandkids were her pride and joy. She found a welcoming spiritual home at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Brewster. She cherished her Irish roots and had plenty of stories to share with her friends and family. She never let setbacks stop her.

She is survived by her brother Thomas (Tom) Duffly & (Francis), her daughter Anjali, Jon, and Mark (Hannah) and grandchildren (Ted and Griffin). Her loving husband Fred, and sisters Maureen and Ann predeceased her. She was the aunt of the (late) Lisa Mitchelson, Susan Mitchelson, Sara Mitchelson and Kathleen Joyce as well as Claire, Catherine and Corrinne Rosseel.

A service will be held on September 13th at 2pm at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Brewster, MA. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
