William E. Zellars, 87, of Yarmouth Port, passed away on August 27, 2026, at Cape Cod Hospital with his faithful partner of 20 years, Carol McDonald by his side. Bill was born in Falmouth, MA, to John and Frances Zellars.
A native Cape Codder, Bill, was raised in Sandwich. He worked for the State Highway Department for 35 years. After retiring from the Highway Department, Bill worked at the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Yarmouth for 15 years. Bill also love working alongside his son Bill, Jr, taking care of the Quivet Neck Cemetery. Bill enjoyed travelling, going out to eat, and dancing. He was also an avid bowler.
Bill was predeceased by five siblings; John, Marcie, Millie, Carol and Phyllis. He is survived by his two sons, William, Jr, of Wareham and John of Plymouth; four stepchildren; Linda Beli, Dennis, Patty Shea, of Plymouth, Robert Peck, of Utah, and MJ Burgess, of Wareham. He is also survived by his sister Jerry, many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Burial will be held at Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouth Port. He will be missed by all who knew him.
