Cameron Matthew Mosher
April 1, 1998 – September 12, 2026
Cameron Matthew Mosher, a beloved son, grandson, and friend to all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2026, at the age of 28.
Cameron is survived by his beloved parents, Bert Mosher and Leigh-Anne Mosher (Rice), of South Dennis; his cherished grandparents, Josephine and Wayne Rice, of South Dennis; his loving girlfriend, Michaella Biron; his uncle, Robert Mosher; his aunts, Tammy and Amy Lafountaine; and his many close and cherished friends, too numerous to name, but each deeply special to him and his family.
Cameron was predeceased by his grandmother, Cynthia Lafountaine; his Great-Grammie, Marion Sanborn; and his childhood dogs, Tasha, Fenway, and Coco.
Born and raised in Dennis, Massachusetts, Cameron attended Scargo School Preschool, Ezra H. Baker Elementary School, and Wixon Middle School. He graduated from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in 2016, where he was enrolled in the Horticultural program and served as Vice President of FFA (Future Farmers of America). While at Cape Cod Tech, he also dual enrolled in the EMT program at Cape Cod Community College. After graduating from high school, he continued his college education to pursue a Fire Science degree. He later graduated from the Barnstable Fire Academy with Fire 1 and Fire 2 certifications and became an on-call firefighter for the Dennis Fire Department.
From a young age, Cameron was naturally curious and driven to understand how things worked. He loved trucks—especially big trucks—and had a genuine love for driving them and working with heavy machinery. He loved to fix, build, create, and find solutions. He was hardworking, reliable, independent, and driven, with a natural ability to lead and a genuine commitment to a job well done. He took pride in doing things properly and believed that “all work is important, no matter the task.”
Cameron had a natural talent for operating and understanding heavy equipment and machinery. He was drawn to the trucking, excavation, and construction industries and quickly developed the skills and knowledge needed to take on demanding work. Along the way, he was fortunate to have his Papa, Wayne Rice, and other experienced people in the industry who took him under their wing, mentored him, and shared their knowledge with him. Their guidance and encouragement were instrumental in helping him achieve his goal of becoming a skilled and qualified operator, including earning his Class A Commercial Driver’s License at just 18 years old, along with Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) and Tanker endorsements, and a Hoisting License. These qualifications allowed him to operate the equipment and commercial vehicles for companies such as Dig It Construction, Tasha Trucking, and Cape Cod Excavating. Cameron possessed a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card. This qualification opened the door to opportunities that required considerable responsibility. Cameron worked with many trucking, excavation, and construction companies throughout his career, gaining experience with a wide range of heavy equipment and always taking pride in being someone who others could rely on to get the job done.
In 2020, Cameron began working for the Town of Dennis Department of Public Works as a heavy equipment machine operator. During his six years with the Department, he became a dedicated member of the DPW team and continued to expand his skills and qualifications, obtaining multiple licenses related to his work with the Town. At the same time, he drew on his experience, knowledge, and love of the work to build his own business, Mosher Excavating, something he was incredibly proud of. He was also generous with his time, volunteering to help with local fundraisers and other causes throughout the community.
Cameron shared a close and lasting relationship with his father, Bert, who was a mentor and guide throughout his life. They shared a love of working with their hands, worked side by side on projects and jobs, and enjoyed plenty of humor and good-natured banter. When they were home in the evenings, they especially enjoyed spending time together in their basement den, watching their favorite series and enjoying each other’s company.
Cameron and his mother, Leigh-Anne, shared a special closeness that remained constant throughout his life. She was his trusted confidant and someone he could always turn to. Leigh-Anne would often tell him, “You’ll always be my Buzzy Lightyear. I love you to the moon and back,” an endearing phrase she had used with Cameron throughout his childhood and into his adult years. They shared a relationship built on trust and understanding. Cameron had a tremendous love and respect for his parents and was fiercely protective of his home and family. He took pride in helping care for and maintain their home, which had always been his safe haven, from childhood through his adult years—a place where he could always be with the two people who meant so much to him.
Cameron was especially close with his grandparents, Papa and JoJo. Their bond throughout his childhood was filled with time together, laughter, and countless adventures. Camping was an important part of those years, as Papa and JoJo took Cameron on trips throughout the United States, exploring new places and making memories along the way. One of their goals was to visit every state in the country, and together they came close to accomplishing it. The many miles they traveled, places they explored, and experiences they shared became a special part of Cameron’s life. Their relationship remained extremely close as he grew older.
Cameron was full of life, had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved laughing, joking, and spending time with his friends. He especially enjoyed boating and spending time on the water, as well as snowmobiling and time spent up north. Cameron was a loyal and dependable friend who formed many close friendships throughout his life. He cherished those friendships, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. S. Yarmouth, MA. on Tuesday, September 22 from 4:00-8:00 Pm. Burial will be private at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cameron M. Mosher Memorial Scholarship, benefiting graduating seniors at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School annually.
Checks may be made payable to Cape Cod Regional Technical High School with “In memory of Cameron” on the memo line. Please mail to 351 Pleasant Lake Ave., Harwich, MA 02645 Or Venmo: @CamMosher-Scholarship

A celebration of Cameron’s life is currently being planned and will be held in the near future. Details will be shared as arrangements are finalized.

Leigh-Anne, I made a promise to Cameron that I will never leave your side and I Intend to keep that promise. Cameron was the brightest light, and he shines bright today and forever. I’m so grateful we had our little babies at the same time, Cameron all wrapped up and coming out of his swaddle to visit Shae, just born. His beautiful chubby face and perfect little body. He’s perfect again. Love you my Sissy, Kathleen

A young life gone far too soon.... Thoughts, prayers & condolences from all of Chris's fellow LIUNA Local 1249 Public Employees. May God be with his family and friends during these difficult times. It is times like these that I reflect on the Bible verse in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is aware of our broken hearts and has the power to heal and restore. God Bless.... Mike Gratis, Business Manager LIUNA Local 1249 Public Employees

Cam was an amazing man, he would always wave at my boys bus when they would drive by on their bus when he was out doing yard work. He would give them high fives when we would walk the dogs on the road, or when we would see him at the touch a truck in Welfleet. Cam you are so missed by so many and will NEVER be forgotten. Gods speed. Your smile and way you would make others laugh or smile is like no other you always could make a bad day good. Rest easy
