Lucille K. Farrington, of Bass River and formerly of Newton, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

Lucille grew up in West Newton and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the devoted wife of Paul Farrington, who passed away almost one year before her. Lucille and Paul shared an incredible 67 years of marriage, building a life together centered around family, love, and plenty of wonderful memories.

Above all else, Lucille loved her family. She was the loving mother of Susan, Kelly, and Renee, and mother-in-law to Peter, Matt, and Steve. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ryan and Amanda, Casey and Kelly, Kiley, Julia, and Jack and Sarah, and a proud great-grandmother to Grace and Abby. She was also a devoted sister to Ellie Summers and the amazing “Auntie Lu” to many.

Nothing made Lucille happier than having the people she loved close by. She loved her home and appreciated the simple things that made her happy—perfect pillows, a beautiful lawn, fabulous food, and, most of all, being surrounded by family. She even tolerated her grand dogs, Darcy and Winnie, who were lucky enough to be part of it all.

Lucille will be remembered for her love of family, her devotion to Paul, her strong connection to the people and places she called home, and the many wonderful memories she leaves behind. After 67 years together, there is comfort in knowing that Lucille and Paul are together once again.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, extended family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

In place of flowers, donations may be made in Lucille’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of her absolute favorite charities and a cause that was especially close to her heart.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 9, from 9-10:30 am at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. S. Yarmouth, MA 02664, followed by a funeral Mass at Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave. S. Yarmouth at 11: am. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private.
