 DEACON RICHARD DRESSER, AGE 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who loved and cherished him.

                Deacon Richard M. Dresser, of Hyannis, died November 15, 2016.  Dick was born September 2, 1921 in Winchendon, Massachusetts.  He graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1939 and from Penn State University, Ogontz Campus, in 1962.  He started his work life at the Paper Mill, then worked for the Greenfield Tap and Die before entering the Navy on October 23, 1942, where he served on the LST457 in the Pacific during World War II.  He received an Honorable Discharge on December 2, 1945 as a Chief Boatswain’s Mate.  He married his sweetheart, Margaret M. (Peggy) Kelleher, on February 23, 1946 after dating her since July 2, 1941

                He is predeceased by Peggy after 65 years and 8 months of marriage, and their son, Dr. Richard Daniel Dresser; siblings Helen Long, Gertrude Napolitano, Mary Martin, Jane Kimball, Carl Dresser, and Alvin (Bub) Dresser.

                He leaves behind his children Margaret (Mike) Lawler, Gerrie Dresser, Lynn (Rick) Kern, William (Elma) Dresser, Esquire, Nancy Leska, Michael Dresser, Jeanne Dresser, Eileen (Gary) Sardinha, Kellie (Kent) Farrenkopf, and Timmy Dresser; grandchildren Michael (Kate Gearhart) Lawler, Kristin (Christopher) Gordos, Meg (Chris) Windau, David (Julie) Dresser, Julie (Chris) Pfeiffer, Michael and Benjamin Dresser, Samantha (Brendan Job) and Margaret Leska, Taylor, Travis and Kate Cook, Stephanie, Liz, and Brian Sardinha, Corey and Faith Farrenkopf; and great grandchildren Colin and Amelia Lawler, Andrew, Mackenzie and Maddie Gordos, Alex and Tenley Windau, Carlton and Nora Dresser; two brothers Roger (Wanda) Dresser and Donald (Deanna) Dresser; and many nieces and nephews. 

                After returning from the war, he worked at Kaskadusa Tool Co. as a tool maker, at Precision Plastics Co. in Philadelphia as a manager of manufacturing, and ABCO Tool and Die, as plastics engineer and manager.
 
               He was ordained a Deacon of the Catholic Church on June 20, 1987 and was assigned to St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis where he actively served with faith and love until his death.
 
                His wake will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis, on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m..  Burial will be at Massachusetts  National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11:15a.m.

                In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to Special Olympics of Cape Cod, Parkinson Association, or Greater New England Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society.
